(The English copy of these terms is the official, where applicable)
Part 1: Who wrote thisYours Truly: dedicated to designing and bringing things to life, with a variety to what those things being designed or brought to life might be! The site's located right here, and the missions are still rather new... for now. The goal is those kinds of exciting things, not data collection. When it comes to these types of matters, Yours Truly is based out of southeastern Brazil.
Part 2: When data gets collectedTechnically speaking, data gets collected when you use or support Yours Truly.
For example:
• when you enter into contact with YT (such as through DMs, social media, or contact forms)
• when you keep in contact with YT
• when you comment on the site
• when you buy YT products or contribute money to YT
• when you sign up for a YT supporter package
• when you sign up for/maintain an account on the YT site
• when you follow YT, message YT, support YT, etc. through one of the services I use (i.e. Ko-Fi, Substack, Wattpad, etc.)
Data is also technically collected whenever someone visits the site at all for metrics purposes (such as knowing what countries people are visiting the site from, which is common practice online), but the majority of that is generally aggregated data. There's no cookies around these parts other than for "English With Yours Truly" (optional, for things like saving course progress & account info) :)
Part 3: What data gets collectedExactly what data gets collected depends on what exactly you use related to Yours Truly and where you use it.
Most YT services are run through Ko-Fi, with your data therefore additionally being handled by Ko-Fi in accordance with Ko-Fi's Terms and Privacy Policy. The same logic applies on any other service used by or related to YT. Whether there or here, there's certain data that can be collected in order to operate and make dreams come true. That data can include things like the following:
• IP Addresses & Browser/Device Info (ex: what web browser or OS you're using)
• Email Addresses
• Names
• Phone numbers
• Messages/communications
• Comments/reviews/testimonials
• Account info (username, profile picture, etc.)
• Preferences (such as your language preference)
Due to the nature of my work, payment information (like credit card numbers) is processed via third-party payment processors (
Stripe) rather than directly by me. I still might come into contact with data such as product choices, payment amounts and your billing address(es) and name, though.
Part 4: Who Sees Your DataI'm not a "selling data" fan. Your data is seen by me and the services utilized to deliver what I do (i.e. Ko-Fi, Substack, Wattpad, etc.). If
you put stuff out publicly, know that other people can see that, so use your good general internet etiquette. Also while you're at it, do us both a favor and just make sure you're being respectful and constructive!
Part 5: Data Security and Your Data RightsDirect payment data is handled by top-of-the-industry payment processors like
Stripe rather than directly by me. Data that does get collected by me (see section 3) is encrypted via SSL encryption where reasonably possible, helping protect it. However, please do know that on the whole internet, data leaks and malicious attacks sadly do happen, therefore please understand there are inherent risks whenever you use the internet and share data, including on my sites too.
I try to regularly (at least yearly) delete any sensitive information like mailing addresses that are no longer needed on my end, and data that would be reasonable for me to have on hand server-side you may request a copy of or deletion of at any time by getting in touch via the contact form. Please note that I can't delete data I'm obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
